My friend just spent $16,000 USD on a timeshare deal in Mexico. Said he was 100% sober, but the hard sell broke him down.
It's not even real estate, but "points" in an international system of timeshares, from the Bahamas to Bath. You spend the points based on the location, so maybe Bahamas = 5,000 points, Bath = 50. You get the picture.
